📅 Reservations & Cancellations

Are there costs involved in making a reservation?

Making a reservation through our website is free of charge. We do not accept reservations by email or phone, only online bookings through the website are accepted.

Do I need to reserve a spot beforehand?

Yes, we certainly recommend it. Be sure to book your spot in time!

Do you charge any costs in case of cancellation?

We regret to hear you will not be coming! The costs depend on the moment of your cancellation:

  • Up to 14 days prior to the arrival date, we charge €15
  • Between 14 and 7 days prior to the arrival date, we charge 50% of the total costs of the stay and €15 in administration costs
  • Within the period of 7 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be given
  • Reservation fees are never refunded
  • Check all our conditions here

Can I book with a group?

Yes, you can. For groups of 12 people or more we require a deposit, which will be refunded after departure if everything is in order. Groups of up to 25 people can usually book directly through our Search & Book. Groups larger than 25 people are only welcome before or after the high season and must always book via our group form.

Is it possible to book a one night stay?

Yes, that’s possible. For camper, caravan and tent pitches a one-night stay is always possible and can be booked directly on our website.

For accommodations this is only possible outside of busy days. A one-night booking cannot be made online, but only on request by email. Please note that a one-night stay in an accommodation is more expensive: €6 reservation fee applies and there is a 25% surcharge.

Is it allowed to book multiple pitches online to extend your stay?

Booking multiple reservations online to extend your stay and switching from one site to another during your stay are not permitted.

Can I make sure I am staying next to my friends on the campsite?

Yes, you can, its very easy to choose your place on a map whilst making a reservations via our website. If you don't choose a specific spot, the reservation system chooses a spot for you. It is not possible to change your place after.

 

I made a reservation, but have not received a confirmation email.

Sometimes our confirmation emails end up in the spam folder. Please check there first before contacting us. If it is not there, please email us with your reservation number (no need to call). We will resend the confirmation.

What is the maximum stay on the campsite?

We use a maximum stay of 7 days per year.

Can I buy a gift card for the campsite?

Yes, you can. Please send us an email with your request.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Online you can pay with credit card, PayPal, Bancontact and iDEAL. At the campsite you can pay with cash, debit card, credit card and Apple Pay.

Do you have a waiting list when the campsite is fully booked?

No, we don’t use a waiting list. All availability is always shown on our website in the Search & Book. There is no extra availability by phone or email.

Can I stay in a 2 or 4 person cabin or waggonnette with more than 2 or 4 people?

We cannot allow more than 2 (or 4) persons to stay in our 2 (or 4) person accommodations. We only make exceptions for babies and toddlers up until 5 years old. Please notify us beforehand if you’re bringing a baby or toddler.

Can we bring our baby / toddler with us in our 2 person cabin?

Yes, babies and toddlers under 5 years old can stay with their parents in a 2 person cabin for free. Make your reservation online including 2 adults, then send us an e-mail to notify you are bringing your child. We do not have any baby beds or children’s beds, unfortunately.

Are there any towels and bedding present in the cabins and wagonettes?

Sheets, pillows and bedding are present, towels are not.

Can I smoke or cook in the cabins and wagonettes?

No, that is not allowed, both for safety reasons and because we would like to keep the cabins and wagonettes clean.

Can I book a tent pitch with a folding trailer or roof tent?

No, folding trailers and roof tents are not considered regular tent pitches. You always need to book a camper or caravan pitch instead.

You can check here whether you are still allowed to drive into the environmental zone.

Is there electricity for tent pitches?

No, there is no electricity at the tent pitches. You can charge phones and batteries for free at the reception. You can also use our open kitchen (freely accessible), which has refrigerators to keep your food and drinks cold. At the reception we also have a freezer where you can place your cooling elements.

Can I stay overnight in a passenger car?

No, that is not permitted. It is also not allowed to take up a camper/caravan pitch with a passenger car.

Can I book a specific pitch?

Yes, you can. Normally pitches are assigned automatically by the system. If you want to choose a specific spot yourself, you can do so via the map in our online Search & Book. This costs € 10 extra. It’s not possible to book a specific pitch in any other way.

🚐 Arrival, Departure & Parking

At what time can i check in or check out?

  • If you are staying in a cabin or other accommodation, you can check in starting at 2:00 p.m.
  • Caravan and camper spots are available starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • If you are camping with your tent, you can check in starting at 3:00 p.m.

You can check out between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. for cabins and wagonettes, before 12:00 p.m. (noon) for campers / caravans and for tents before 14:00 (2pm).

What do I do when my arrival is past closing time of the reception?

On this page you will find more information about late arrivals.

How does access with a car or camper work?

Our entrance gate for cars and campers works with license plate recognition. Please make sure to register your license plate in advance via My Environment. When arriving, stop within the white marking in front of the gate to open it automatically. You can drive in until 10 PM; driving out is possible at any time.

Do I need a barcode to enter or leave the campsite on foot or by bike?

Yes, every guest receives a personal barcode. With this barcode you can open the pedestrian gate to enter or leave the campsite on foot or by bike, even when the reception is closed. Don’t forget to carry it with you. Check our opening hours.

Can I park before check-in / after check-out time?

No that is not allowed. It is also not permitted to park a camper/caravan in a car parking lot.

I am bringing a caravan. Is it necessary to book an extra parking spot for the car?

It is not necessary to book an extra parking spot. The car fits next to the caravan on your pitch. Only if it does not fit on the pitch or if you are bringing a second car, you need to add an extra car when booking.

Can I park on the camping?

Yes, there are parking spaces for cars at the campsite. Parking is not free, see our prices page for the daily rates. Always book a parking space together with your reservation, as parking may be full. This happens more often during busy periods (July, August and public holidays). If no space is available, we’ll refer you to P+R Zeeburg. Please note: it is not allowed to park a regular car on camper, caravan or tent pitches.

How far is Camping Zeeburg from Amsterdam city centre?

By bike it takes about 15 minutes to reach the centre. Tram or bus will take 10–15 minutes. Stops are within walking distance of the campsite.

How do I get from Schiphol Airport to the campsite?

Take the train to Amsterdam Central Station and change to tram 26. From the stop it’s a short walk to the campsite. A taxi or Uber takes about 25 minutes.

Is there public transport to the city?

It's a 10-minute walk for the direct tram connections 3, 14 and 26 to the city centre.

Is the campsite open in winter?

Yes, Camping Zeeburg is open all year round. Please note that some facilities may have limited opening hours during the winter season.

Are dogs allowed at the campsite?

Dogs are only welcome at Camping Zeeburg if you are staying in a tent or camper/caravan. This means they are not allowed in the cabins and wagonettes.

We charge a surcharge for the dog. Dogs must be kept on their leash at all time during their stay, and be walked outside the terrain of the campsite.

Are dogs allowed in accommodation?

Dogs are not allowed in our accommodations, such as cabins and wagonettes.

Dogs are only welcome at Camping Zeeburg if you are staying in a tent or camper/caravan.

If you prefer to stay in a cabin, you can leave your dog at one of the nearby dog boarding facilities:

Is there free WiFi on the campsite?

Yes, our WiFi network is free to use. You only need to accept the terms and conditions, no password is required. The network name is Camping Zeeburg.

Are there pots, pans and other cooking utensils?

No, if you want to cook in the shared kitchen you need to bring your own pots, pans and tableware. Disposable tableware and simple pans can be bought in our campsite shop. You can also borrow pots and pans at the reception.

Can I use the open kitchen?

Yes, our open kitchen is freely accessible for all campsite guests. It has hot plates, microwaves and fridges where you can store your food and drinks. Bring your own pots and pans, or borrow them at the reception, or buy basic cookware in our campsite shop. And best of all: you can pick fresh herbs for free from our herb garden.

Is there a restaurant or bar at the campsite?

Yes, our café-restaurant with terrace is open during the season from April to October. For current opening hours, please check our opening hours page.

Are there nice places to eat near the campsite?

Absolutely! There are many cozy restaurants and cafés nearby. At the reception and in our shop you can buy a special map with our favorite local tips.

Are there washing machines and dryers?

Yes, there are two laundries on the campsite, both accessible 24/7. The washing machines and dryers offer different programs and settings to choose from. Detergent is automatically added in the machines, so you don’t need to bring anything extra. Tokens can be purchased in our shop or from the vending machines on the campsite.

How do the showers and toilets work?

The sanitary facilities are free of charge for camping guests. Showers work with a 5-minute start-stop system: you can pause for up to 3 minutes. Afterwards you need to wait 3 minutes before starting again. This way we save water and energy together.

Are there lockers available on the campsite?

Yes, there are small lockers (45x30 cm) that you can use against a deposit of €50. These lockers are only suitable to store documents, bill money and cell phones. They are only accessible during the opening hours of the reception.

There is no luggage storage at the campsite. Do you want to safely store your bags on your departure day, so you can visit the city once more? You can rent a luggage locker at one of the bigger railway stations. At Amsterdam Central, for example.

Does the campsite have a central TV antenna?

No

Can I rent tents and camping gear on the campsite?

We offer tents and camping gear such as mats, air mattresses and sleeping bags for sale at in camping store. You cannot rent them from us.

Can I rent a bike at the campsite?

Yes, you can rent city bikes with a back-pedal brake at the reception. We do not rent out other types of bikes. It is not possible to reserve in advance.

A deposit is required: either a valid ID (passport or driver’s license) or €50 in cash, which will be returned when you bring back the bike. Insurance is included. Always use both locks and return both keys. This way you are insured and avoid problems if something happens. Park your bike in the bike racks and always lock it properly according to the instructions.

Please note: bikes can only be returned during reception opening hours. You can find the current prices and options on our website or at the reception.

Can I rent a kayak or SUP at the campsite?

Yes, you can rent kayaks and SUP boards with us. You do not need to be a camping guest. No deposit is required. Reservations are usually not necessary, if you prefer to be sure, please email us.

Can you swim at the campsite?

Yes, you can swim in the IJmeer.

🎉 Activities & Rules

Are there events or live music at the campsite?

Yes, during the season we regularly host live music, small events and activities. These usually take place in or around our cafĂ©-restaurant. The program changes weekly. Check our agenda and social media for the latest information. Are you a musician or part of a band and would like to perform here? Fill out our contact form, we’re always looking for new talent.

Am I allowed to barbecue on the campsite?

Definitely, we have built a special BBQ area on the site with a beautiful, large grill. Safe, easy, and free. You can find it at the edge of the blue camping area. Open fires or campfires are not permitted.

Can I fish on the campsite?

It is not permitted to fish on the campsite. In order to fish in the designated places in Amsterdam, you need a fishing permit.

Am I allowed to put up a party tent?

No

Can I sleep in a hammock or under a tarp?

No, that is not permitted.

Is the campsite suitable for children and families?

Yes, families are very welcome. There is a small playground, a petting zoo and plenty of space to play. During the peak season, lots of young people come camping and we do not offer an exclusive field for families.

How sustainable is Camping Zeeburg?

Camping Zeeburg holds the Green Key Gold certificate, the highest level of sustainability in the leisure industry. We actively work on green energy, waste separation and offer eco-accommodations. Read more about our certification on the Green Key website.

Can I visit without staying overnight?

Yes, you can. Our cafĂ©-restaurant with terrace is open to day visitors as well. You can also rent bikes, kayaks and SUP boards, even if you’re not staying at the campsite. During the season, we also host regular activities and live music events that you’re welcome to join. Please note that other facilities (such as showers and toilets) are for overnight guests only.

Are there nice walking and cycling routes from the campsite?

Yes, from the campsite you can start beautiful walking and cycling routes through Amsterdam East and towards the city center. At the reception and in our shop we sell a handy map with routes and local tips. See also: Around Camping Zeeburg.

Can I take a boat to the city from the campsite?

No, there is no direct boat connection to the city and it is not possible to dock a boat at the campsite.
