Outdoor sports around Camping Zeeburg

Camping Zeeburg is close to the city, yet surrounded by surprisingly green nature. From the campsite you can easily hop on a bike, go for a run, or explore the area by kayak or canoe.

In the surroundings you’ll find beautiful routes along water, polders, parks and historic dikes. Along the way you’ll pass interesting places, from nature areas and birdwatching spots to historic locations such as sluices, dikes and old villages.

Below you’ll find our favourite cycling, walking, running and kayak routes, all starting from the campsite. At several points along the routes we share a bit more about the nature and history of the area.

Cycling routes

By bike you can quickly get to Amsterdam. But explore! Did you know that the Stelling of Amsterdam is part of the Unesco world heritage sites? For those who want to go to the beach, city beach Blijburg is perfect. Within 20 minutes you can be with your feet in the sand.

Running Walking

The combination between greenery and city make our jogging trails a great way to explore the surroundings. View the routes below and click through to the website of Strava. Here you can directly download the routes in a gps or your own Strava app. You can quickly get going!

Kayak routes

This kayak route is perfect for active adventurers! If you want, you can kayak around the entire IJburg island. You can of course also just do a small part of the route. You are on holiday, after all.

Urbansportzone

The largest skate park of the Netherlands on Zeeburgereiland. With an area of 3,100 m2, the concrete skate park offers various disciplines for beginners as well as advanced skateboarders, BMXers and inline skaters.
